Bike Safety

The InnovAge Moonlight Classic is pleased to partner with Campus Cycles to ensure a safe and enjoyable ride for all participants! 

Equipment Requirements

All cyclists are required to wear or utilize the following to be allowed on the course:

  • InnovAge Moonlight Classic Bib Number
  • Helmet
  • Front and Rear Bike Lights

Cyclists not displaying safety equipment will be asked to leave the course. Cyclists not displaying a bib number will be asked to register for the InnovAge Moonlight Classic at the on-site registration table at the Colorado State Capitol Building.

 

Rules of the Road

To promote the safety of our participants, cyclists are asked to observe the following rules:

  • Cyclists must display bib numbers; those who do not will be removed from the course.
  • Helmets are required for cyclists and their child passengers.
  • Children aged 17 and under must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
  • All bikes must be equipped with a front and rear light.
  • All bikes should also have both front and rear reflectors for visibility.
  • Bike strollers must have reflectors and vertical flags.
  • Obey all traffic signs and lights.
  • Do not tamper with, move or navigate around course markers and barricades.
  • Ride in the same direction as automobile traffic.
  • Follow the instructions of the Denver Police Officers, Campus Cycles’ Safety Team, and the ride’s course marshals.
  • Ride slower and more cautiously than you would during the daylight.
  • Ride on the right side of the street.
  • Wear white or light colored clothing and/or reflective tape for increased visibility.
  • Park bicycles in clearly marked areas avoiding private residential or business property.
